Paula Diane Severson, 63, of Gering, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 at her home.  Her funeral service will be 10 am Monday, at Gering Zion Church with Pastor Paul Hebbert officiating.  Interment will be at West Lawn Cemetary. 

Paula was born to Paul and Edna (Layton) Grochowsky June 7, 1942, in Gering.  She attended Lincoln Grade School and graduated with honors (National Honor Society) from Gering High School in 1960.  In addition, she attended Scottsbluff Junior College for a year and a half will working at Jack and Jill's in Gering.

She married Dean Gross August 27, 1961, of Mitchell Valley at the First Methodist Church in Gering.  They spent the next 20 years farming and raising four children: Jody, Jim, Kevin and grad.

Following Dean's death in 1981, Paula worked at Brown's Sheep Company in Mitchell.  She left there when she married Frank Severson of Gering, July 30, 1993.  From that time she was a homemakeer.

Paula enjoyed bowling, reading crossword puzzles, gardening, and embroidering.  Her real life joy was spending time with Frank, her children and grandchildren.  Survivors include her husband, Frank; daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Bob Caudillo of Omaha; sons Jim Gross of Gering and Kevin Gross of Mitchell; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Amy Gross of Gering; setpchildren, Stuart and Jenell Severson of Missoula, Montana, Rhonda and Rodney Truett of Killeen, Texas, Kelly and Sam Flaten of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Grant and Sylvia Severson of Gering; 12 grandchildren and on e great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Karen Grouchowsky of Scottsdale, Arizona; Aunt and Uncles, Mildred Cotton of Commerce City, CO, Bill and Dorothy Layton of Gering and Ruth and Kale Wright of Scottsbluff.  Preceding her in death was her first husband, Dean Gross; her parents; Aunt Alta and Uncles John Laton, Henry Layton, Doug Layton and Dwight Layton.
